Agriculture in Belarus is a dynamically developing sector, accounting for about 15% of all capital investments. The Republic of Belarus is interested in further modernization of the industry's enterprises, including attraction of foreign investments.
The main branches of animal husbandry in the Republic of Belarus are dairy and meat
cattle breeding, pig breeding and poultry farming. The availability of a sufficient number of natural and cultivated forage lands primarily contributes to the cattle breeding industry. From the economic point of view, milk production is more profitable in comparison with other types of livestock production. Due to the targeted selection and breeding efforts and feeding improvement, the efficiency and competitiveness of this sector is constantly increasing.
